About the Greater Louisville e-Health Survey 2007 The first annual Greater Louisville e-Health Survey is a project of the Louisville Health Information Exchange, Inc. (LouHIE), a not-for-profit community organization located in Louisville. LouHIE's vision is to improve quality and contain rising costs of healthcare in the greater Louisville area (9 County KIPDA Region plus Hardin) by providing consumers and their providers anytime, anywhere access to complete healthcare information and decision-support. the e-Health survey is designed to help LouHIE achieve this vision. This year's survey is focused on exploring the development of a community-wide health record banking system. In conducting this survey, LouHIE is working closely with greater Louisville area employers, healthcare organizations and government officials, as well as officials from the Kentucky e-Health Network and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Information gathered through the e-Health Survey 2007 will be used to help LouHIE design a community-wide health record banking system which is as beneficial as possible for the greater Louisville area community as a whole. LouHIE has engaged an independent organization, Noblis, Inc. (www.noblis.org) to help conduct this research. Noblis, based in Washington DC, is a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization that helps clients solve complex scientific, systems, process and infrastructure problems in ways that benefit the public. Noblis will be supported by a research team from University of Louisville’s School of Public Health and Information Sciences. The results of the survey will be presented at the Greater Louisville e-Health Summit 2007, tentatively planned for November 15, 2007, and at the Kentucky e-Health Summit in Lexington on December 6-7, 2007. In addition, a full survey report will be published and made available for purchase. A broad array of people and organizations from across the greater Louisville area are being asked to participate to make the survey as successful as possible. |
